Whoa...

Yeah so, it's been awhile. There's a lot of stuff to say.

Okay well first off, about 5 months ago Cody and Chris came back to the band. We all took a 7th month break. After they came back Jay continued recording, and we all pracitced the songs and maintained a search for another guitarist and keyboardist. But of course that never happened.

A few weeks ago Argonautica decided to sort of...restart. We're dropping all of our old songs. We've written about 2 new songs, and we're beginning to book shows and everything. We realized that our stuff would be impossible to play live without keys and multiple guitars, and we also realized that we probably won't gain a key player or another guitarist for a long time. So we are writing songs that we can play live and have fun with.

All in all, we just going to have fun with this band. We're not going to take everything so seriously, we're going to have as much fun as possible, and hopefully somebody will like it and hook us up with a label or something in the future.

So right now we are in the process of writing all new material, and playing shows. Sometime in the future we'll record. We'll probably make a little demo and then try to go to a studio. We're not going to attempt another home recording.

That's all for now! We hope to see you at shows! Come out and have fun.

Cody and Chris leave

Cody Armstrong, and Chris Marino, Argonautica's drummer and bassist, have left the band. The chemistry in the band was just not working out.  Cody was in it from the beginning, and Chris had always been supportive. We had good times, and it was fun.

The album is still going to be recorded, and Argonautica will continue to remain a band, until I (Jay) can find new members.

Drums will be programmed. Everything else will be recorded as planned.

Keyboards done, album update

Keyboards have been recorded. They are going to be used as the keys on the album, and will also be used live, on backing tracks. We are to begin practicing with them next weekend, and with some time, we should be ready to play live.

Drums will be recorded soon, although nobody is sure when. Hopefully soon, whoever does them.

Afterward, rhythm guitars will be recorded, followed by bass, then other guitars, little lead things you won't notice unless you pay close attention, guitar solos, and keyboards. After that, vocals will be recorded, and then the whole album will be mixed and mastered. 3 tracks will be thrown onto a disc and will be sent to various labels in hope of getting a deal.

The album title has not been decided on, but we do have a cover:

And the working song titles (with possible changes in song order) are:

1. The Voyage
2. Moonfire
3. Frozen Night
4. Reise Haupt
5. End Of Time
6. Into Infinity
7. Beyond The Dark Sun (Wintersun)
8. Night Of Sorrow

We had hoped to have the album completed by the end of 2006, but of course nothing ever goes as planned.  So expect it to be finished around March of 2007.

Update!

The balls of Argo have dropped. Songwriting is going much better, with better songs and more diversity. With only 2 days of exams left for (2 of) the members, Argonautica will soon have lots of time to practice and write. In the future, the band hopes to play shows when more members are found.
